The AARP's history

The AARP, American Association of retired persons, is based in the United States. The AARP was found by Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus for people age 50 and over in 1958. This type of organization provides resources for a good life and health. For example, it provides services, benefits, and medications. This association started by a group of bussinessmen like leonard Davis. As he made this organization, the government started investigating its non profit status in congregassional hearings but not alot of evidence was found.

The AARP is widely known for addressing issues affecting older Americans through a multitude of initiatives like having their own rights for a change.AARP also provides extensive consumer information, volunteer opportunities, and events including the annual National Event & Expo in Los Angeles. One of AARP's goals is to reduce hunger among seniors through the Drive to End Hunger. 

The AARP has a population of 40 million members in the United States. In modern day, the total US population is made up about 33.2 million elderly people. In Florida and Pennsylvania  had high proportions of elderly about 14 percent or more in the United States. The AARP having a alot of members needs the help of a good health care as well as a good shelter for the elderly as they are increasing,
